Ronald Rogers

Ronald Rogers, a Kirkland Correctional officer with crisis-intervention training, testified for the defense on Day 29 about observing Timothy Ray Jones, Jr. in a self-injury behavior unit.

Rogers said Jones was quiet, kept to himself, and did not respond when other inmates made derogatory comments. He described Jones as polite, respectful, and compliant during his observations.

Rogers also explained that his concern about Jones's permanent prison placement arose from other inmates' views of crimes involving children. He agreed that the concern was that Jones could be preyed upon, rather than that Jones would be a predator.
