10.Jury Deliberations and Evening Recess
7 linesRICK HUBBARD: Thank you, Your Honor. (Whereupon, the jury started deliberations at approximately 5:17 p.m.)
THE COURT: Let's bring in the jury. (Whereupon, the jury came into open court at approximately 6:50 p.m.)
THE COURT: Are you ready, Joy?
COURT REPORTER: Yes, sir.
THE COURT: I got your note. Y'all want to go home for the evening. Y'all come back in the morning, what time do y'all want us here?
JUROR: 9:00 o'clock.
THE COURT: Come back at 9:00. Y'all come, don't start to deliberate until all twelve are back. We are going to lock that room, basically have it secured so everything in it is going to be secured, safe, all the evidence like you left it. I haven't been in there but any straightening up, cans, cups, stuff like that. If so the Clerk will supervise that. The room will be locked, if I don't lock it we have to go back through them and go back to this closet. I would rather lock them in that room. Here is your rules for the night. Books closed, don't talk with anybody, don't call each other on the phone, text, nothing, no independent research. Leave it alone and when you get back here at 9:00 and all 12 are here you can get back to work. Okay. The same rules apply. Y'all are free to go, get what you need out of there and when y'all leave it will be secured shut. Y'all will see the SLED team in the morning, park in the same places. (Whereupon, the jury was excused from the courtroom for the evening.) (Whereupon, deliberations will resume the next morning at 9:00 a.m.)
